Day 1: Tbilisi – Nukriani – Sighnaghi – Lagodekhi
Our guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel/address in Tbilisi at 9am. Start your Lagodekhi tour by driving to the East of Georgia, the Kakheti region.
Arrive to Sighnaghi, also known as a “city of love” (mostly for the fact that one can register a marriage there 24/7). Previously a royal residence, this small Kakhetian town is surrounded by an ancient city walls with watchtowers. Finish the tour of Sighnaghi at the local family house with an amazing lunch.
Then it’s off to Lagodekhi National Park, in the far-east of Georgia,bordering Russia and Azerbaijan. Just a few hours from Tbilisi, visitors can touch the moist ground of the mixed forest, detect the sweet scent of blooming Alpine Zone flowers, and feel the barrier wind whilst traveling through narrow forest paths.
Check-in to the small boutique treehouse hotel just inside the National Park. The hotel’s 4 cottages represent a compromise to remain the area untouched, while its windows and wood decks represent a tribute to the nature and serene beauty.
You will have a short evening familiarization walk inside the forest park. This is a great “appetizer” activity before a traditional Georgian dinner with the local family.
Day 2: Lagodekhi national park and local community
After delicious organic breakfast made by locally sourced and reared produce, continue your Lagodekhi tour by embarking on a magical journey inside the National Park. This horseback riding experience will let you enjoy the serene atmosphere of the forest and witness how it has been sculpted by the river and the seasons for centuries. Walk through the forest and enjoy the beauty and age of nature, while surrounded by trees with more than 100 years old.
The area is home to more than 126 species of animals, 12 reptiles, 150 birds and 53 species of mammals. So there is a great chance for you to witness some of them slong the way. Have a picnic BBQ lunch anytime you wish for it.
Return back to your hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Lagodekhi – Vakiri – Tbilisi
Spend a couple of hours in the morning at your own agenda, either wondering short inside the Park; or just sitting and relaxing in one of the most amazing untouched natural surroundings.
At about 12pm start your way back to Tbilisi. But first stop in the village called Vakiri for yet another authentic experience. Kakheti region is known as a cradle of wine, so it would be a mistake to miss on a chance to see a local family producing wine. Georgian ancient winemaking traditions are now gaining momentum worldwide, and you will be among the first to see and taste it firsthand. This brief wine tour will be followed by farm-to-table natural lunch.
Return to Tbilisi. Drop off at your hotel/address.
